Ground Water Level Recorder (Piezometer)

Introduction

Ground water is among the Nation’s most precious natural resources. Measurements of water levels in wells provide the most fundamental indicator of the status of this resource and are critical to meaningful evaluations of the quantity and quality of ground water and its interaction with surface water. Next Sense Technologies made GWLR-01, Ground Water Level Recorder, is a data logger and submersible pressure transducer combination designed for remote monitoring and recording of water level or pore pressure data. The sensor is lowered into the well on a reinforced cable and submerged below the water. Once in place, the initial water pressure reading is synced with the current water level. The unit then monitors the water pressure for changes, and the pressure difference is converted to a change in water level. The entire unit is hermetically sealed to prevent any moisture from getting into the instruments circuitry. The instrument comes along with inbuilt memory and GPRS enabled web telemetry for remote communication of data. Optional rechargeable battery along with solar panel is also available for uninterrupted power even at remote places. The GWLR-01 is used for measuring water levels in bore wells, dams, open channels and lakes.

How does it work?

Our Ground Water Level Recorder is provided with a submersible 16 bar Pressure Transducer which helps us to monitor and record the ground water level. The sensor enclosed in a water proof housing made of stainless steel is lowered into the well on a 2 core 1mm cable and submerged below water level. The initial water pressure reading is synced with the current water level and as the pressure changes the water level is determined. It has the capability of measuring up to 160 meters of fluctuations in the water level. It runs on electricity and is provided with batteries for backup and optional solar panel is also available for uninterrupted power even at remote places. It indicates the values on a display screen and has a data logger where all the data is recorded and can be retrieved via USB in excel format. The data can also be made online and transferred to a server through GPRS enabled web telemetry (SIM).

What does it measure?

It measures the level of water beneath the ground. The fluctuations in the water level are displayed and recorded and data can be retrieved through USB in excel format. It is used for measuring water levels in bore wells, dams, channels and lakes.

How it Use?

Step One

Lower the sensor into the well so that it submerges in the water and fix the display unit at any place nearby the well.

Enter the depth on which the sensor is placed on the display unit, it will start measuring accordingly and will display current values on the display screen and the data will start recording in the data logger.

Just insert a USB and get data retrieved as excel sheet or data can be made online through telemetry (SIM) or Wifi.
